pattern maker - NYC

Danielle Hutchens is a freelance pattern maker in NYC. She has worked in the industry for over twenty years and has experience making patterns with various designers. She has been involved in crafting patterns for many runway shows since the 90s. She drapes and drafts flat patterns, as well as having the knowledge to work with designers that are extremely technical or with designers who are more conceptual. Danielle is also very flexible to work with. She can work from detailed sketches with specs, loosely drawn sketches, actual vintage garments that start as concepts, or components of a few ideas meshed together to make one piece.

Danielle has worked with Randolph Duke in the 90s draping red carpet gowns and ready to wear. Following that experience, she developed runway and production patterns for seven years with Reem Acra and Rebecca Taylor. She also worked full time with Adam Lippes, Raven, and Alexander Wang.

In 2010 Danielle became a freelance consultant for a variety of clients such as: Daniel Feld- Kymerah, Augden, Pret a Surf, Veronica Beard, Rebecca Minkoff, Timo Weiland, Whit, Monika Chiang, Daniel Vosovic, Laila Azhar, Kaufmanfranco, Marina Symone Bridal, Kaelen, Tanya Taylor, Proenza Schouler and Brandon Maxwell.
